Last weekend was the 2014 James River Writers Conference. My brain is still a-buzz with the people I met and the things I learned.
First, allow me to indulge in a SQUEE moment! I met Hugh Howey, Iris Bolling, Kwame Alexander, Scott W Berg, Stacy Whitman, Brian Jay Jones, Kelly O’Connor McNees, Lamar Giles (just to name a few). My inner fan-girl was reigned in tight as to not alarm the guests, agents, or my fellow writers. But, she was a whooping and a hollering.
My brain was filled to overflowing. The weekend was exhilarating and exhausting at the same time.
Here is a visual summary of the opening session:

The biggest conference take away is – WRITE like no one is reading, REVISE to clarify your vision, EDIT so others can read your project. Then, Revise and Edit some more.
