According to the Chinese zodiac, 1966 was the year of the Fire Horse.

The passionate influence of the Fire Element makes the Fire Horse the most unconventional, freedom-loving and adventurous of the Horse types. For the Fire Horse, there is little enjoyment to be found in a slow-paced life. Instead, members of the sign prefer excitement at every turn, which explains why the interests and focus of the Fire Horse can change on a whim. The passionate nature of the Fire Horse is often found to be appealing to others, which explains why they have a long-line of admirers and followers. Luckily, the Fire Horse is quite at ease in leadership roles and actively seeks the opportunity to do so.

Or according to the Greek Zodiac, my creatively chaotic Scorpio is tempered by the remnants of the ordered influence of the Libra.

50 years ago,on a tiny island near Japan, I entered the world. The Vietnam War was raging and my parents were stationed on an Army base on Okinawa.
All I know is that my life path as been filled with risks and opportunities. I’ve witnessed the end of the Vietnam war, the moon landing, the end of disco, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the beginning of Desert Storm,  the fall of the Twin Towers, and more.I’ve been blessed to watch my siblings marry and start their families.

I’ve been touched by loss.

I revel in every step I’ve taken. If I tried to turn back time and go back in time, I would lose all that I’ve learned. Every lump, bump, and  wrinkle I wear with pride. These are the marks of my passing through this world.

Raise a glass.

Live. Laugh. To joy.To life and love, to an interesting journey filled with family and friends. And when the sun sets on my life, may I be remembered with fondness and laughter.
